TCS RUHANIYAT… Seeking the Divine

The wait is finally over… at long last we can all come together and enjoy the magic of TCS Ruhaniyat come alive in all its grandeur in a live concert; absorb the powerful, positive vibrations of the unique, enchanting presentations from across the country and beyond.

With all the pain, chaos, anxiety, insecurity and fear that was experienced in the past few months one feels compelled to sit up and take a good look at what we call life, how it is changing, why it is changing the way it is, and, what is our role in all this. The pandemic, the strange climatic changes world over, the increase in the number of cyclones, volcanic eruptions … so many wake up calls that need to be taken seriously. To begin with we need to become sensitive to nature, to others, to life itself.

Compassion, cooperation, humility … attributes long since considered not as important are beginning to comfort the heart, the mind. The nonstop chatter of the mind may not have stopped but we are now beginning to pay attention to the whispers of the heart too.

“It is the realm of the heart that gives solace eventually; for, the heart knows” – said the realized masters who knew the secret of living in joy, in peace, amidst all turmoil. TCS Ruhaniyat is back with the messages of such great masters once again.

Thanks to the continued support of our National presenting partner TCS, in this 21st year we will once again cover all the 8 cities for all our loyal audiences across the country, live. So, beginning in Mumbai as always, we will cover Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad in November-December 2021 and Ahmedabad, Chennai and Pune in February 2022.

As the fans of TCS Ruhaniyat say, it is more than a concert. It is an enriching experience emerging from the combined power of music and spirituality; opening the hearts, and minds of all witnessing it. As the works of great masters and mystics are brought to life by carriers of unique living traditions, they remind the listeners of the blissful path of spirituality, of the basic oneness of all beyond all man-made divides of class, caste, religion, race, language or nationality.

Most importantly, the festival provides the bridge that ensure these living traditions, the unique aspects of our intangible heritage are nurtured. Something that is really the need of the hour, post the lockdown.

The only festival of its kind, TCS Ruhaniyat is like a timely reminder of the human capacity to love, to nurture, to guide.

When you hear of the bliss the great realized masters, great mystics experience, the unconditional love they talk of, all boundaries seem to melt away, even if for a short while… In that sense Ruhaniyat is about world peace too.

Brain child of Mahesh Babu, the festival is among the most awaited events in India and according to the audiences it brings peace, calm and joyous serenity. Naturally the audience, the artists and curators are all eagerly waiting, rearing to go. Because it is an experience where all feel transported to another world … to another realm, to a world of love, harmony, peace, calm, equilibrium and unity.

This year the Mumbai edition will see a very special guest artist group; the world-renowned Tuvan living legend Huun Huur Tu, from Mongolia. Among the Indian artists are Ashupreet Kaur & group (Punjab), Rameshwari Devi & group (Uttarakhand), Parvathy Baul (West Bengal), Narh – the Ancient instrument of Mystic stories, Kachra Khan & group (Rajasthan), Prahlad Singh Tippaniya & group (Madhya Pradesh) Kinnara Katha (Telangana), Jogwa & Bharud by Radha Khude (Maharashtra) and of course, Qawwali.
